The Bunsen blog won’t be about us. Sure, we think we’re alright, but the reason we’re here is to address a glaring gap that shouldn't exist. This sector is flush with era-defining companies, but the communication is never as riveting as their technology, but it could be.
Because shouldn’t the wonders of genetic design capture the imagination? Shouldn’t the most compelling molecular mechanisms shift conversations at pharma partner meetings? In a time when getting funding is fiercely competitive, don’t these companies need distinction?
Science branding is dormant, and we know why
Take old-school marketing pharma. They get science, but they don’t get communication. Pharma marketing lacks storytelling. It omits insights. And it bypasses design—big time. Then there are direct-to-consumer branding agencies. Those guys crush design, but the second you start talking about genomics or microbiomes? It's game over, and their work all sounds the same.
This is why we started Bunsen, where your frustrations are our frustrations. We understand the value and craft of storytelling as much as we understand the value of speaking your dialect. We get it, and that’s why we’re writing about it.
